Daljinder Bal

Integrative Psychotherapist

Clients have described me as warm, understanding, open, easy to talk to and able to challenge when helpful to do so. My natural style is sensitive, and I attune to you and where you find yourself at this moment. I can integrate practical tools alongside more creative healing approaches, working with the energy of your psyche through grounding exercises, images, dreams, mythology and imagination. Interestingly, they are often unexpectedly valued interventions by clients and can offer an extra dimension to our work together.

As a fully qualified and registered Integrative Psychotherapist, my work fundamentally is client led. This essentially means, through attentive attunement I listen to what a client brings to therapy in order to reach an understanding of what they would like from the therapy process. It is then through building a trusting working alliance and being able to challenge the client that change can occur.

I have experience in working with young people as well as adults with presenting issues such as addiction, anxiety, depression, OCD, hallucination, identity, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and behaviour, disordered eating, low self-esteem and low self-worth.

Therapy can be extremely difficult; it can even be somewhat unsettling at first. However, through support and guidance it can also be just as empowering. It can provide clients with new understandings to themselves by connecting how their past may be affecting their current emotions, thoughts and behaviour.
