Connecting physical health, emotional wellbeing and everyday behaviour
I work with people who feel stuck despite making serious efforts to improve their health and wellbeing. You may be managing a chronic health condition, stress or burnout, anxiety or depression, or finding that changes you know would support your health are difficult to sustain in everyday life.
As a Chartered Health Psychologist and Lifestyle Medicine Specialist, I look at the connections between physical health, emotions, thoughts, relationships, lifestyle and environment. This whole-person perspective can be particularly useful when difficulties do not fit neatly into either “physical” or “psychological” categories, or when previous support has focused on only one part of what is happening

Could we be a good fit?
You may find my approach useful if:
You know what you would like to change, but find it difficult to make those changes last despite your best efforts.
A chronic health condition, stress, burnout, anxiety or low mood is beginning to affect your wellbeing or quality of life.
You sense that your physical health, emotions, lifestyle and circumstances are affecting one another, rather than existing as separate problems.
You are living with obesity, diabetes, bariatric-related challenges or another long-term health condition and want support that considers both psychological and behavioural factors.
You have tried different strategies before but still find yourself returning to the same habits, reactions or barriers.
You are looking for therapy that combines reflection and psychological understanding with practical support for meaningful, sustainable change.
What working together can look like

When we first meet, I am interested in understanding the whole picture: what is happening for you now, what you would like to be different, and the psychological, physical, social and lifestyle factors that may be influencing your wellbeing. We will agree together what feels most important to focus on and allow that focus to develop as the work progresses.
Starting with what matters now
Working with me is usually more like a collaborative conversation than being analysed or told what to do. I am warm, curious and conversational, and I will ask questions, offer observations and share relevant psychological insights where these may help you make sense of what is happening.
Some sessions may be more reflective and exploratory. Others may be more practical, with a focus on realistic strategies, goals and the obstacles that make change difficult to sustain.
Rather than looking at symptoms or behaviours in isolation, I pay attention to how physical health, emotions, thoughts, relationships, lifestyle, environment and life experiences may be influencing one another.
Looking beneath recurring patterns
When a difficulty keeps returning, I become interested in what may be sustaining it rather than assuming that the problem is simply a lack of motivation or willpower.
Together, we may explore the role of stress, beliefs, previous experiences, relationships, physical health, lifestyle habits, work pressures and environmental influences. Often there are understandable reasons why a pattern developed, even when it is no longer helping.
My work is shaped by health psychology and a biopsychosocial perspective, alongside approaches including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, counselling, coaching, mindfulness and hypnotherapy. In practice, this means drawing on different ways of helping you understand patterns, build insight, test practical changes and develop strategies that are meaningful and realistic for your life.
If you come with a specific current difficulty, the work may initially be more focused and practical. With longer-standing or recurring patterns, we may spend more time understanding what keeps the difficulty going and what needs to change beneath the surface.
We will regularly return to what you wanted from therapy, notice what is changing in everyday life and adapt our focus accordingly.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what the problem is or how to solve it. Part of our work is making sense of that together.
Areas of experience
My work has included supporting people with a range of psychological, health-related and behavioural difficulties, including:
Chronic health conditions, behaviour change, obesity management and bariatric care.
Anxiety, depression, stress and burnout.
Working with the psychological and emotional impact of trauma.
About Natascha
Natascha works at the intersection of physical health, psychological wellbeing and behaviour change. Alongside her work as a Chartered Health Psychologist and Lifestyle Medicine Specialist, her professional background includes clinical practice, higher education, healthcare training and research.
She is particularly interested in why sustainable change can remain difficult even when someone is highly motivated and understands what they “should” be doing. Rather than viewing this as a problem of willpower, she looks at the psychological, biological, social and environmental factors that may be influencing the person’s ability to change.
Her work is informed by a whole-person perspective: understanding how health, emotions, behaviour, relationships, lifestyle and wider circumstances interact, and using that understanding to develop realistic ways forward.
