Maya Foulds
Something About Me
I offer a safe non-judgemental space, where we can explore the difficulties you are having in your life and work towards developing self-awareness, emotional intelligence and resilience. I can offer support with crisis and setbacks and give you a new perspective on your experiences and on yourself. This new found insight can open up more choices and the freedom for you to make positive changes to help you move forward and live a happier, more fulfilled life.
I have helped clients with issues such as low mood, depression, anxiety, relationship and family problems, abuse, addiction, stress, lack of purpose, eating problems, bereavement, loneliness and anger. If any of these issues are impacting you, together we can work to find the best way forward.
I have been working for many years for a large disability charity as a counsellor. This has given me experience working with disabled clients from a wide range of backgrounds with chronic health issues, supporting them in the process of grieving for their loss and adjusting to the profound life changes that accompany their disability.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked as a journalist in the UK and in the US. I have also lived in Japan. I am American and British of Filipino descent and have lived in London for over 25 years. I believe my diversity and international life experience will be an asset in our work together.
