When Nutritional Therapy can be Helpful

Explore your nutrition and daily routines when low energy, fatigue or difficulty concentrating are affecting everyday life.
Sleep & Recovery
Consider nutrition and lifestyle patterns that may be relevant to your sleep, recovery and how you feel during the day.
Stress & Resilience

Gut & Digestive Health
Explore your eating patterns, digestive symptoms and other lifestyle factors that may be affecting your comfort and wellbeing.
Hormones & Women’s Health
Personalised nutrition and lifestyle support through hormonal changes, including perimenopause and menopause.
Eating Patterns & Appetite
Develop a more consistent and nourishing approach when stress, mood, appetite or a busy life are disrupting how you eat.
Nutritional Balance

Physical & Emotional Wellbeing
Consider nutrition, sleep, stress, movement and other lifestyle factors as part of the wider picture of your health and wellbeing.
Our Nutritional Therapy Approach
Nutritional therapy looks beyond a generic list of foods to eat or avoid. Your practitioner takes time to understand your current nutrition, symptoms, health history, lifestyle and priorities before deciding with you what is most useful to focus on.
Recommendations are personalised and practical, with changes introduced at a pace that works in everyday life. Where appropriate, your practitioner may also draw on functional medicine principles to consider patterns across different aspects of your health.
What happens in a nutritional therapy consultation?
Your first nutritional therapy consultation gives you time to talk through your current nutrition, health history, symptoms, lifestyle and any particular concerns or goals you would like help with.
Your nutritional therapist may also explore areas such as sleep, stress, movement, digestion, appetite and daily routines where these are relevant to the wider picture.
From there, you will discuss the areas that may be most useful to focus on and agree on practical nutrition and lifestyle recommendations that fit your daily rhythm and life circumstances.
Where functional testing may provide useful additional information, your practitioner can discuss this with you. Testing is not automatically required, and any purpose and additional costs will be explained before you decide whether to proceed.
Where your symptoms require medical investigation, dietetic care or another type of clinical input, we will discuss this with you.
What is nutritional therapy, and how is it different from dietitian support?
Nutritional therapy takes a broad view of your nutrition, lifestyle and health. Sessions may explore your eating patterns alongside areas such as digestion, energy, sleep, stress, movement and your wider health history, looking for patterns that may be relevant to how you feel. From there, you and your nutritional therapist agree on practical nutrition and lifestyle changes to focus on.
Dietitian support is generally more clinically focused. Sessions may concentrate more closely on your nutritional intake and requirements, particularly where eating has become difficult, your appetite has changed, medication is affecting nutrition, or a health condition, disordered eating or eating disorder needs to be considered. Your dietitian can help you establish a nutritionally adequate eating pattern and provide specialist dietetic input alongside other clinical care where appropriate.
There is some overlap between the two services, and both are personalised to you. The main difference is the perspective and type of nutritional support you need, rather than one approach being better than the other.
If you’re unsure which would be most helpful, you don’t need to decide before contacting us. Tell us a little about what’s happening and we’ll help match you with the most appropriate practitioner.
